  1. Agriculture is not profitable (Revenue-generating) in Bihar state in India.
  2. As a result; the attention of the Youths (Productive Population) in the state is not taken towards farming in the state; and a number of farms in the state are presently lying un-cultivated; and their potential is not being optimally utilised.
  3. There are many agro-climatic zones in Bihar state in India; and a number of crops and fruits with many medicinal and nutritious properties grown in large quantity in the state.
  4. Many crops/fruits like Makhana, Singhara, Ramdana (Amaranth) etc grown in the unique agro-climatic conditions of Bihar state in India have a number of proven (and accepted) medicinal and nutritional properties.
  5. However; the potential for profitability of these and many other (similar) crops and fruits is not leveraged to the optimum degree in these times of Globalisation.
  6. The Government of Bihar state in India (spanning 94,183 SQ Km) gives many incentives – and subsidies – to farmers in the state for growing crops and agricultural produce grown in large quantities in its unique agro-climatic conditions. The same could be said about the intentions of the Govt of India.
  7. However; the response from the residents of the state to these initiatives is at best; lukewarm.
  8. Most of the population from the BOP in Bihar state migrates to other states in India or to other countries around the world to earn their livelihoods; mainly as Menial, (and Cheap) labour.
  9. Some initiatives – preferably from the Private sector – focusing exclusively on arresting this trend of migrations from Bihar state is urgently required.
  10. It is also necessary that such an initiative should also support the profitability of crops and fruits grown in large quantities in the unique agro-climatic conditions of Bihar state.
  11. The BIHAR FOOD SECURITY FOUNDATION has been raised in Patna in Bihar state with the Mission of meeting these twin requirements in the present times in the state.
  12. This Trust/Foundation plans to achieve its Mission by leveraging the PROVEN effectiveness of Courses of the “Art of Living” (AOL) in many states in India and in more than 155 countries on Planet Earth.
  13. Courses of the AOL have proven to substantially raise the levels of entrepreneurship in many states in India including in Bihar state; and this Trust plans to leverage the effectiveness (strength) of these Courses to raise the profitability – and attractiveness – of agriculture in this state of India.
  14. The INSPIRATION behind this effort is absolute FAITH in the words of HH Sri Sri Ravi Shankar; Founder of the AOL; that:

HAVE FAITH IN THE INFINITE ORGANISING POWER OF THE DIVINE. FAITH MEANS GIVING MIRACLES A CHANCE TO HAPPEN; FAITH IS GIVING THE DIVINE A CHANCE TO ACT.

THE BROAD METHOD

  1. This Trust is in contact with the Apex Body of the AOL in Patna; the Capital of Bihar state in India and can get the required courses conducted by Certified Teachers of the AOL from Bihar state.
  2. The Trust would get FREE Courses of the AOL carried out in Bihar state in a well-planned manner by CERTIFIED Teachers of the AOL – from Bihar state.
  3. Through these courses; the residents of Bihar state would be informed of the incentives given by the Government of Bihar and by the Government of India towards supporting agricultural activity in Bihar state; and the requirement of their staying in the state from the Strategic and Spiritual perspective.
  4. The residents of Bihar would also be told to raise their own Food Processing Units (agribusinesses) in their areas; and to contact this Trust with their plans by these Courses.
  5. The Trust would support the profitability of promising agribusinesses making processed food products from Crops and Fruits grown in the unique agro-climatic zones of Bihar state.
  6. Many Crops and Fruits with remarkable medicinal and nutritious properties are grown in the unique agro-climatic conditions of Bihar state.
  7. Singhara (Water Chestnut) is known to reduce high blood pressure, and Ramdana (Amaranth) is known to have anti-diabetic properties. Makhana (Fox nut) is known to be beneficial in the treatment of arthritis, diarrhoea and insomnia. It is also prescribed to counter obesity.
  8. Processed Food products of these crops/fruits (like Singhara Atta, Ramdana Laddoo, and Makhana Flakes etc) have great potential for making high profits; once these well documented medicinal and nutritional properties are suitably advertised.
  9. The (obvious) profitability potential of these crops/fruits has not been suitably leveraged till date.
  10. Large amounts of funds are available from funding agencies across the world to support the profitability of such INNOVATIVE products.
  11. This Company is inspired by the teachings of HH Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Founder of the ‘Art of Living’ (AOL); and aims to raise the profitability of agriculture in Bihar state in India.
  12. Courses of the AOL have a number of proven success stories in raising the entrepreneurship levels in many states in India including in Bihar state.
  13. This Company is in contact with a number of CERTIFIED Teachers of the AOL from Bihar state; prepared to conduct Courses in the state, once the funds become available – as per the Policy of the AOL.
  14. The residents of Bihar state would be inspired by Courses of the AOL to raise their own agribusinesses in their areas; effectively availing the incentives given by the Government of India; the Government of Bihar state in India, and by this Company (by contacting it).
  15. If required; this Company could also resort to other means of advertising its plans.
  16. These plans can be replicated in other states in India and this Company hopes that the combined efforts of all such Companies would result in increased Domestic agricultural production of India.
  17. All details of the plans of this Company are given in this Website.
